ECHO Salzburg – Book Recommendation

This children’s book came about quite by chance, says Margret Springl, who was born in Kuchl. Originally, it was intended simply as a keepsake for her daughter. Friends then read it too, and that’s how the idea arose to write a children’s book about the life story of the Trapp family, to whom the film ‘The Sound of Music’ also refers.

The well-known story of young Maria, how she comes to work as a governess for the aristocratic family, and how they find happiness together, singing and making music across the city. The book features child-friendly illustrations, photos and information about Salzburg’s historical sights.

Suitable for children aged six and over.
